An immersive digital experience for the post-COVID lockdown world, where users can select their region, travel preferences and interests in order to find incredible hidden gems right on their doorstep.
Secret Escapes partnered with Visit Britain to produce a campaign to encourage travel within the UK following COVID restrictions being loosened. This campaign on Secret Escapes was part of Visit Britains wider nationwide campaign named “Escape the Everyday” all about inspiring people to get outdoors, and take advantage of this time to explore their own home countryside.
Our campaign “The UK, your way” extended on this idea by creating an immersive website experience where users were able to very quickly select their region, travel preferences and interests in order to find incredible hidden gems right on their doorstep.
The key concept behind the Visit Britain campaign was enabling people to easily plan a roadtrip based on their initial location, and how far they’d like to travel. With this information the website then generated a list of recommended experiences across a variety of topics. The user was then able to explore and filter these options in order to plan their ideal getaway.
This interactive experience was supported by a robust travel guide, with detailed descriptions of places of interest all across the United Kingdom. People were encouraged to continue exploring the website through curated editorial travel guides.
